Unlike many other cartoonists and illustrators Kogan’s work ethic is to freestyle at all times. Thus his many sketchbooks can not really be called sketchbooks at all. They are rather books of collected art works. No careful preparations are made before the act of drawing and there's no pencil sketches to be found. He just starts flowing with his fountain pen, as if he was freestyle rapping. It is his spontaneous approach similar to rappers and surrealists, and years of training that enables him to reach those depths of the (universal) subconscious, filled with love, passion and skill, that distinguishes him from the broad majority, who are simply referring to Zeitgeist phenomena or copying what they like in others. Instead Kogan’s work appears like a never-ending flow of excitement.

His debut art book Cult City published in January 2023 (and already sold out) is a collection of 192 artworks from his many books of collected art works, curated and edited by Mania Press, and riso printed at Drucken 3000 in Berlin. 

The available original artworks on display are selected from the Cult City show at All The Problems In This World from Feb 3 to Feb 9. They will be shipped early March 2023 (once they return from the show at Fatbottom Books in Barcelona) in a plastic display, to ensure a safe journey to their new owner.
